AI Content Detector
AI writing has a rhythm of its own. Paste any article, essay or email and this free detector weighs 19 writing-style signals, from overused AI vocabulary to how naturally your sentences vary, then shows an AI likelihood score and the sentences behind it. It runs entirely in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
How to check if text was written by AI
Every writer leaves patterns. Language models leave very particular ones, and people leave the messy, personal kind. The detector looks for both.
Paste your text
Paste at least 80 words, or open a .txt file. Longer texts of 300 words or more give the most reliable result.
It reads the writing style
The detector weighs 19 signals, such as AI-favored words and stock phrases, sentence rhythm, transition words, personal experience and casual language.
See the score and the evidence
You get an AI likelihood from 0 to 100, a confidence figure and every signal that pointed toward AI or toward a person.
Find the sentences behind it
Each sentence is highlighted, so you can see exactly which lines read as AI and which read as human.
The signals behind the score
AI-favored vocabulary
Words language models overuse, such as delve, tapestry, seamless, pivotal and leverage, measured per 1,000 words.
Stock phrases
Lines like "in today's fast-paced world", "it is important to note" and "in conclusion" that AI tools reach for again and again.
Burstiness
People mix long and short sentences. AI text is often unusually even. The detector measures how much your sentence lengths vary.
Transitions and structure
Stacked openers like "Moreover," and "Additionally,", lists of three, em dashes and paragraphs of identical length.
Chatbot leftovers
Pasted formatting such as **bold labels** and phrases like "I hope this helps" that slip in from a chat window.
Human signals
Personal experience, concrete numbers and dates, casual language, short fragments, contractions and the odd typo.
Private by design
Your text never leaves your device
The whole analysis runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or used to train anything.
It shows its reasons
You see every signal and its weight, plus sentence highlights, instead of a mystery number.
Honest about limits
It gives a likelihood and a confidence figure, and it says clearly that no detector can prove who wrote a text.
Free and instant
No sign-up, no word limit games, results in under a second.
How to make AI-assisted writing more human
- Add one real experience or example only you could know
- Use specific numbers, names, places and dates
- Mix short sentences with longer ones
- Cut stock phrases like "in today's fast-paced world"
- Replace "Moreover" and "Additionally" with plain links between ideas
- Say what you actually think, not a balanced summary of everything
AI content detection: common questions
How accurate is this AI content detector?
It is a strong guide, not proof. On typical AI text and typical casual human writing it separates the two clearly. Formal human writing, non-native English and AI text edited by a person land in the middle, and the tool says so with a "mixed signals" result and a confidence figure.
Is my text uploaded or saved?
No. The detector runs entirely in your browser. Your text is never sent to our server, never stored and never used to train anything. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
How many words do I need?
At least 80 words for a result, and 300 or more for a reliable one. Very short texts do not carry enough patterns to judge.
Can it detect ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude?
It looks for writing patterns that most language models share rather than one specific model, so it works on text from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and similar tools, especially when the text was not edited.
Should I use it to judge a student or a writer?
Use it as one clue, never as the only reason. Every AI detector can be wrong, and formal writers or people writing in a second language can look like AI. Talk to the person and look at their drafts before drawing any conclusion.
Does Google penalize AI-written content?
Google says it rewards helpful, original content however it is produced, and acts against content made mainly to manipulate rankings. If you use AI, add your own experience, examples and opinions.
Does it work in languages other than English?
It is tuned for English. It will still analyze sentence rhythm in other languages, but the vocabulary and phrase signals are English, so treat results for other languages as rough.
What is burstiness?
It measures how much sentence length varies. People naturally mix short and long sentences, so their score is usually above 0.5. AI text is often more even, below about 0.4.
Why did my own writing score as AI?
Formal, polished writing with no personal details can look machine-made. Adding a real example, a specific number or a shorter punchy sentence usually changes the result, and it makes the writing better too.
